Position Summary

The Manager of Supplier Development & Procurement is responsible for the strategic sourcing process and overall supplier management that ensures efficient operations and adheres to established budget. This position will also document, track, evaluate, and report on data that may be used in the organization’s customer pricing strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Build relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms and conditions
  • Analyzes current procurement activities and recommends improvements through more efficient procurement methods, e-purchasing, quantity discounts, standardization, and value analysis.
  • Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, structures agreements, selects and/or recommends supplier vendors that provide the best overall value to the organization.
  • Fosters both tactical and strategic supplier vendor relationships.
  • Evaluates and leverages market conditions.
  • Maintains knowledge of supplier requirements and ensures all processes and procedures are followed.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Maintains supplier vendor database and monitors supplier on-time performance.
  • Develops and maintains procurement policies and governance.
  • Works cross functionally with finance and marketing teams by providing data and insights that contributes to customer pricing strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience), plus
  • 3+ years of related and relevant experience (in the construction industry preferred)
  • Proven success as a supplier development professional
  • Solid analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, along with strong strategic, pricing and business acumen.
  • Detail-oriented and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused and concise manner.
  • Strong problem solving skills preferably using Lean methodologies
