Role Summary:
As a Process Engineer (Sustaining Engineering) you will be responsible for the design and development of new and/or improved manufacturing processes and ensure efficient and effective manufacturing of products in production. Be part of the cross functional team to manage all aspects of process development to implement manufacturing processes both within Enovis and at its suppliers. Drive improvement of existing manufacturing processes within Manufacturing, using best practices across other production lines.
Job Description:
May serve as a cross functional team member as primary process and manufacturing expert in day-to-day manufacturing processes.
Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on new and existing manufacturing projects. Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
Specific Need:
Under general direction, acts as the leading technical specialist in the process engineering field. Responsible for the establishment of standards and the utilization of production facilities specifically related to med-device cleaning techniques, sterile packaging, outer packaging, and sterilization methodologies. Provides technical direction and guidance to other team members. Solves complex technical problems, appraises technological developments, and investigates feasibility of new techniques and processes. Role typically requires more than 5 years of experience.
Executes the functional deliverables associated with NCMR, CAPA, and Quality Systems.
Plans, organizes, and conducts all aspects of manufacturing technical reviews.
Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.)
Writes and reviews validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
Oversees development builds associated with the project using technical work requests.
Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
Responsible for conveying the process and manufacturing limits and capabilities to the development team. May train technicians, manufacturing personnel when required during process transfers. Participate in lean reviews, and Kaizen events.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires bachelor’s degree in science or BSME, or related Engineering Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in process/manufacturing engineering role. Level maybe based on years of experience.
Must have excellent mechanical aptitude, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be experienced in MS Word, Excel and Project.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the areas of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, and Process Control Concepts, Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Validation and product/process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Use of Problem Solving and Process Improvement Methodologies (e.g. 6 Sigma).
Experience with data analysis (Minitab, JUMP) preferred.
Experience with Measurement Systems (CMM’s, Vision Inspection and Profilometers).
Experience with CAD Software Solid Works, MasterCAM.
Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994.
Master’s degree in engineering and/or metals/plastics machining experience a plus.
