US Premier Tube Mills (USPTM) is a leading and growing domestic supplier of residential galvanized and powder coated pipe dedicated to quality, on-time delivery, and excellent customer service.
USPTM has an immediate opportunity for a
Powder Coat Lead
(Second Shift) over 11 associates working Monday - Thursday from 5PM to 3:30AM.
This position will lead and coordinate activities of team members to ensure that production requirements, performance goals, and improvement objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate will establish operational procedures, along with continuous improvement culture. This is a hand's on leadership role, direct involvement in the operational process will be required.

- Currently on 4 day work weeks – 10 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday.

- Lead a team of 11 associates to meet production goals and expectations
- Address minor performance issues and training gaps
- Learn and understand processes of the two paint booths as well as all line positions
- Understand line capabilities and maximize efficiency
- Use Infor system to print labels and move bundles to maintain correct inventory
- Read production schedule and Manufacturing Orders and make running decisions based on deadlines and maximizing line efficiencies.
- Print container labels
- Develop and support continuous improvement ideas and projects
- Continual lifting and pushing throughout shift may be required 10-50 Lbs (team lifting required for over 50lbs)
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years Industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent in related field preferred
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- 1 + years supervising experience preferred
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem solver with an eye for detail and an analytical mind.
- Continual lifting and pushing throughout shift required 10-50 lbs (team lifting required for over 50lbs)
- Knowledge of operating procedures and safe work practices
- Knowledge of Powder Coating operations
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems preferred
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to manage personnel effectively
- Ability to work effectively in team environment
- Ability to perform repetitive work under limited supervision
- Ability to work overtime as needed
