Job Summary:

SKF Marine is seeking an On-Site Machinist – Alignment Engineer to perform alignment jobs on rotating equipment and on-site machining. In this position, you will be an integral part of a high performing, diversified team. SKF Service Delivery is a 24/7 – 365 operation and engineers will be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays when required. This position will require extensive travel both within and outside the US. In this position you will be expected to perform in compliance with all SKF policies. The applicant must reside along the Gulf Coast area with a preferred location near Houma, LA. Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:

  • Perform on-site machining jobs along with alignments of rotating equipment.
  • You will also be expected to remain in compliance with all SKF policies.
  • Read, and implement technical specifications, procedures, prints, and process descriptions.
  • Perform on Site machining projects such as Line Boring and Flange Facing.
  • Use Laser Alignment equipment, dial indicators, strain gauge measurements, and other equipment.


Travel Requirements:

  • Company Truck will be provided.
  • Extensive travel will be required.
  • Potential training courses in Europe.
  • A valid and clear driver's license may be required for travel purposes.
  • Employees are expected to put in a full day’s work, hours will vary depending on customer requirements.
  • SKF Service Delivery is a 24/7 – 365 operation and engineers will be required to work overtime including weekends and holidays when required, as well as outside the US.


Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Ability to travel.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in the Marine Industry with on-site machining and alignment experience of rotating equipment preferred.
  • Extensive experience completing machining projects such as Line Boring and Flange Facing.
  • Experience using laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, strain gauge measurements is preferred.
  • Experience with the use of the Faro Laser Tracker is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and other work-related software applications.
  • Comprehensive communication skills in the English language electronically, verbally, and written.
  • Be available and flexible to work a varied schedule.
  • Candidates must reside along the Gulf Coast area with a preferred location near Houma, LA.
