Are you searching for challenging mechanical engineering work?

Do you have an interest in working with maritime and subsea systems?

Do you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment?

If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

You will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated engineers developing systems for our nation's warfighters. We are seeking a Mechanical or Marine Engineer to help us perform full lifecycle development of maritime systems - to include design, modeling, fabrication, integration, testing, and evaluation.

As a Mechanical Engineer for Maritime Systems, your primary responsibilities will include...

  • Are able to effectively work and communicate orally and in writing with other engineers, scientists, and technicians as a member of an inclusive and diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

  • A M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture or related field.

  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, OrcaFlex, or related software packages.
  • Experience with the NAVSEA Temporary Alteration Design Package development or other detailed Technical Data Packages for government organizations.
  • Experience leading diverse and inclusive project teams.
