Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Material Process/Engineer Material Process. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Palmdale, California.

The shifts available for this role are one of the following work schedules:

• 4/10A 1st or 2nd shift (10 hr/day Monday – Thursday)

• 4/10B 1st or 2nd shift (10 hr/day Tuesday – Friday)

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering group.

The selected candidate will be responsible for research and/or product development in more than one engineering discipline. Other duties include:

• Analyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.

• Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.

• Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.

• May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Material Process (T01) or Engineer Material Process (T02)

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Material Process (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Clearance and Program Access Required for Start as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Material Process (T02)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Material Process engineering experience.

• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).

• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Clearance and Program Access Required for Start as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both an an Associate Engineer Material Process and an Engineer Material Process:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

• Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

Pay Range

• Associate Engineer Material Process: 63,800.00 - 95,800.00
• Engineer Material Process: 77,100.00 - 115,700.00

Salary Range: $63,800 USD - $95,800 USD

Salary Range 2: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
