As a Mechanical Engineer you will work alongside experienced engineers to collaborate across organizations to help meet safety, schedule, and cost achievements. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible and dynamic team environment while gaining direct product knowledge from experienced engineers. Additionally, there are numerous opportunities to help represent the Launcher Systems team with our Navy partner and with LM leadership, with many opportunities for career development along the way. to include an opportunity to work towards Certified Principle Engineer for Navy Canisters. Your collaboration skills, that can accommodate our various partners across differing geographic locations will be key.
This position is for the Navy Canister CPE on the CPS program. In this role you will work closely with Northrop Grumman to support the development and production of test hardware while working towards tactical configurations. Collaboration with multiple departments will be necessary to review documentation that define requirements and configuration.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

- Assist engineers in the technical development of designs, working alongside them to develop and coordinate trade studies/analysis
- Aid in the preparation of briefing materials for use at internal reviews
- Participate on failure investigation teams
- Assist in the development and maintenance of design and test documentation
- Participate in relationship building with our vendors and facilities through consistent positive engagement
- Support program level management reviews
- Perform CPE duties to include document review and approval, non-conformance processing
- Requirement and configuration control documentation review and approval
- Occasional travel to subcontractor and test site may be required

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Materials, or other related discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Coursework/experience in mechanical design, thermal/stress analysis, or propulsion.
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience with CAD tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills, Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience.
- Fluency in modeling and analysis tools.
