Medical Assistant I- Charlestown
- (3243155)- Reviews provider schedules daily and weekly to plan patient care and formulates solutions for potential problems
- Greets patient in waiting room and escorts to exam room
- Assures efficient patient flow through the office and exam rooms
- Anticipates / sets up special equipment and/or supplies needed for visit
- Assists patient through checkout process when visit is complete
- Cleans and prepares room for next patient
- Tests specimens as necessary
- Performs other tests, procedures, and treatments as needed
- Assists physician or nurse practitioner with patient examination, procedures and treatments as directed
- Performs designated tasks related to tracking test results and may communicate normal test results to patients as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner or nurse
- Enters vitals and test results into LMR/EPIC
- Maintains neat, clean and safe exam rooms and treatment areas
- Assures exam, treatment and clean utility rooms are properly stocked, equipped and secured as applicable. A biomed ticket is submitted for any broken or not working equipment.
- Requests clinical supplies and practices cost effectiveness measures
- Cleans equipment and exam rooms after patient use per office protocol
- Promotes patient / customer satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs
- Communicates appropriately and effectively with patient
- Functions as an integral part of the patient care team
- Accepts delegated responsibilities with a positive manner.
- Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians, nurses and other staff with evaluation, management and treatment of patients during office visits and other tasks related to the visit consistent with his/her training and skills.
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Nursing Assistant certification or other academic preparation may be considered in lieu of Medical Assistant certification
