Responsibilities The Medical Office Assistant II will work Full-Time from Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM and serve as the first point of contact for patients within the Bassett Healthcare Network. This is a key role in the patient centered care team. Demonstrates excellence in all patient and customer encounters including face-to-face and telephone interactions. The Medical Office Assistant II will assure that a high-quality patient experience takes place by providing administrative support to ambulatory patient care teams through excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Responsible for providing clear, accurate, timely communication to nurses and providers regarding patients. As a Medical Office Assistant II, you will be responsible for accurate, appropriate scheduling of patients for optimum care and provider efficiency. Responsible for collecting demographic and financial information during the scheduling and/or registration processes to ensure full and timely revenue capture. The Medical Assistant II may have direct revenue responsibility through payment collection, cash handling, processing of insurance eligibility and managed care information. The Medical Assistant II will demonstrate a high level of understanding or acts as a subject matter expert for certain facets of the job (ie. Scheduling, Registration, Referrals etc.). Takes a lead in the training of new incoming staff members. Qualifications Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State. Education/Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent preferred Associates degree or higher may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
