Responsibilities

· Previous experience in posting/allocating payments per EOB’s to patient accounts for commercial, contract, and government payers

· Experience in large balances/payments within a hospital or physician setting highly preferred

· Must be able to interpret EOB’s, and identify and reconcile unapplied account balances where necessary

· Posts payments (including zero pays) received from third-party payers and patients through electronic remittances, online payment portal, and patient payments .

· Posts insurance adjustments to accounts receivable as documented from payers. Additionally, is responsible for posting administrative adjustments as approved.

· Identify, resolve and escalate major issues and service failures that impede success.

· Accurately post corrective entries within department mandated time frame

· Analyze third-party payments, adjustments, and denials for appropriateness raising concerns and/or questions in a timely manner so that further reimbursement analysis may be initiated.

· Reconcile all electronic postings for applicable Payors.

· Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately

Qualifications

· Previous experience with medical billing systems (eClinical a plus)

· Three plus years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in revenue cycle management.

· Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required

· Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry

· Ability to multi-task

· Ability to accept change

· Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team

· Professional demeanor required
