Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Mental Health, Wellness and Performance, the Mental Health Office Coordinator works with TUWell staff to coordinate comprehensive health and wellness services to Division I collegiate student-athletes. This position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling appointments for TUWell clinicians; triaging referrals through brief clinical assessments to determine the level of care and disposition; intervening with students in crisis and providing support, resources, and information; keeping an up-to-date database of community referrals; and delivering outreach to university and community partners, providers and resources. The Mental Health Office Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting with direct patient care, case management, and psychosocial issues of children or young adults.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical/counseling psychology and/or social work.
- Knowledge of psychological testing standards and principles.
- Knowledge of and adherence to professional, legal, ethical, and professional standards endorsed by licensing professional organizations.
- Ability to make accurate judgments concerning the physical, emotional, and educational welfare of student-athletes.
- Ability to educate and present to the athletic department/university community a wide variety of psychological topics.
- Knowledge of community-based resources.
- Commitment to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly as pertains to hiring.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Ability to understand and uphold the mission and goals of the athletic department.
- Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Licensed Master of Social Work (LCSW)
- Experience in intercollegiate athletics or a clinical setting
