Full-time positions available for our Mental Health First Responders. This position assists individuals who have a dual diagnosis- behavioral challenges and intellectual disabilities. This position monitors, intervenes and teaches coping skills.

Optimistic Beginnings is an eight bed program offering treatment services to individuals who typically are diagnosed with both a mild developmental disability as well as multiple mental illnesses such as border line personality, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, Defiant Disorder, etc. Our treatment program is based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and all staff are DBT skills trained. Our services are designed to help individuals prepare for their discharge from the program into a lessor restrictive placement in a community of their choice. As a staff your primary goal, during your workday, will be to support them in developing new skills for dealing with life situations that have been challenging in the past and to learn new skills in dealing with every-day life situations that will help them stay in the community and not require placement in acute hospital and psychiatric settings. This type of program includes many different services available to individuals depending on their own needs. This may include personal safety education, medication management, individual counseling, trauma recovery, group counseling, and skills practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
