JOB SUMMARY*
This is an exciting opportunity with the Finance/Utilities Department of the City of Dania Beach. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Water Meter Reader Position. The ideal individual will perform water meter readings and recording services for the City’s water utility services.

Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Reads water meters on assigned routes and records readings according to the reading cycle schedule

• May be required to assist in Inspecting meters for tampering, leaks, box conditions, sidewalk areas, access, and obstructions; provides correction or reports to appropriate department staff for resolution
• May assist in removing and replacing water meters as required
• Responds to customer-related problems; provides resolution or forwards issues to appropriate department personnel
• Assists with monthly customer connects and disconnects as required
• Records and completes all related paperwork and logs
• Maintains assigned vehicle and equipment according to prescribed schedules
• Works independently by managing the day-to-day operations of the job functions
• Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position

Qualifications
What's required: (Minimum Requirements)

High School Diploma/GED

• Valid Florida driver’s license with an overall good driving record required

What's preferred: (Desired Requirements)

• At least 1 year (as a full-time employee) experience or more reading water meters in a residential/commercial environment
• 5 years of experience working in a customer service environment
• Ability to install/remove water meters
• Knowledge of streets and business locations in the City of Dania Beach

Pay ranges from $15.04 - $22.56 based on experience.
