About this Opportunity:
As one of our Metrology Technicians you will join a team of skilled inspectors supporting our newly developed and proprietary fabrication process. Your primary goal will be to conduct visual and dimensional inspections to identify damage, defects, and non-compliance issues. You will also operate laser tracking equipment to measure the dimensions of large parts and assist in identifying and addressing areas outside of tight tolerance ranges and required specifications. A mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, including an understanding of basic geometry, and the ability to take dimensional measurements and calculate fractions and small numbers are essential in this role. You will also play a key role in the continuous improvement quality tracking process, which involves documenting improvement opportunities, logging reports, analyzing data, identifying solutions, and tracking performance.
Some of the things You Will Do:
- Take dimensional measurements, which requires quickly coming up to speed in the operation of our laser tracker system.
- Visually inspect parts for damage and defects and perform mechanical adjustments using standard hand and power tools.
- Maintain inspection equipment, and keep equipment and parts free from damage during the inspection process.
- Validate assemblies are within tolerance and prepare clear reports articulating where any assemblies are out of tolerance.
- Manage the inspection report filing system.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Apply computer proficiency, including using MS Office applications (particularly Excel), performing data backups, and generating reports.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment within relevant industry (such as aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or plastic/injection molding)
- An interest in and ability to learn how to use a Laser Tracker SMR ball for surface and feature tracing of large parts.
- Strong Math skills - proficiency with fraction-based math and working with small numbers.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong 3D spatial perception and understanding of 3D spatial relationships.
- Computer proficiency: Regular use of MS Excel and email; file navigation and use of a proprietary quality reporting system.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools..
- Ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9000-9001 standards is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.76 - $40.79 per hour
