Seeking applicants to fill current vacancies immediately.
This position will supervise students in the school's In School Suspension room working with students on assignments to assist in promoting positive behavior, effective decision making and social emotional learning.
Performance responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and supervising students assigned ISS, Time Out, or waiting to be seen by an administrator
- Implementing behavior Management, Conflict resolution techniques
- Providing academic support and assisting students needing help with class work
- Graphing student data
- Maintaining student files and documents
- Escorting students as needed for assigned tasks
- Implementing strategies and recommendations given by the Behavior Team or Mental Health Team
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED minimum, college hours or degree preferred.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal or Assigned Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of the techniques and
procedures used in working with targeted student population. Ability
to relate and communicate effectively with students, teachers, and
parents. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to
plan and/or implement instructional activities. Ability to operate or
learn to operate a variety of technology and equipment. Ability to
perform clerical responsibilities. Ability to cooperate and work as a
member of a team. Physical ability to lift student if required by job
assignment.
ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Participate and become certified in CPI/TEAM Training and Reality Therapy Techniques.
-Be able to use computer courseware applications in order to implement individual student academic plans and monitor student progress.
-Monitors students at all times. Assumes primary responsibility for classroom discipline and security.
-All other such job related duties as shall be assigned by the
immediate supervisor or the Superintendent of Schools.
-Maintain control and diffuse crisis situations involving verbally and physically aggressive students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. In an emergency, workers may be required to restrain a physically active individual as a temporary safety precaution.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year and salary to be established by the Board
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance
with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.'
