Experienced Landscaping Technician

Summary

The role of Technician is critical to the success of Dragonfly Pond Works because of its core purpose: to ensure that the clients’ projects are executed in accordance with the highest standard of quality.

Role and Responsibilities

Working under the supervision of the Crew Leader the technician is responsible for completing all assigned project work as part of the team. This is a physically demanding field based position that requires critical thinking, teamwork and an emphasis on safety. While each project is different, the technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Review of and understanding of project scope and material lists for all projects assigned to ensure tasks are completed as specified

Complete necessary repairs on a variety of ponds, lakes and other stormwater control measures.

o Repair activities may include: excavation, grading, dredging, erosion repairs, pipe installation, SCM conversion, turf establishment, mowing, planting, invasive plant treatment or removal, etc. Operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner as necessary to complete project scope

o Includes, but is not limited to: dump truck w/ trailer, chainsaw, string timmers, UTV, jon boat, backpack sprayers, kayak, hand tools, and occasionally tractors, skid steer, mini-excavator, etc.

Communicate effectively with other crew members and Regional Manager to clarify project scope as needed and to avoid return visits to project sites

Complete and submit thorough Project Completion Reports

Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure all tools are in safe, working condition at all times

Ability to lift 75 pounds & work in varying weather conditions.

Underpinnings of Success

CLass A Commercial Driver's license

Background and experience in lake/pond maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, grading, erosion control

Completes services on accounts in a professional manner

Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems on the job site

Ability to regularly work on slopes, around water and in variable weather conditions

Executes tasks with high attention to detail and to timely completion of jobs

Understands and follows all company safety policies
