Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies. Also, answers queries received via email, telephone, or fax.- Questions user to collect information about the particular assistance need then determines the best way to assist the user without providing tutoring.
- Determines whether problem is caused by hardware or software.
- Handles and seeks resolution for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or Information Technology services staff.
- Assists students in using the computer lab’s printing system.
- Makes sure that each lab user is properly signed in and has proper ID to enter and use the lab.
- Files lab incident reports.
- Reports software and hardware operational problems to library and Information Technology services staff.
The hours of this position are 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday (during summer the hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday)
