Job Summary:
Transcribes physician orders and provides clerical support to nursing staff for smooth operation of the nursing unit under the supervision of the shift charge nurse. Monitors continuous EKG for basic and lethal cardiac arrhythmias. Interacts with staff, physicians, patients and families on the phone and on the Unit in a knowledgeable and understanding manner.

Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
Current BLS Certification
Must have working knowledge of basic medical terminology and be computer literate.
Must be able to decipher physician orders and complete requisitions.
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
Previous experience as a Unit Clerk/Assistant in a hospital setting, basic computer skills and previous experience as a Monitor Technician in a step-down or critical care environment.

Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $20.09

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
