A misting system Technician for Tuxedo Mosquito Control is engaged in installation and maintenance of automated mosquito misting systems. In addition to “Start-up” beginning in late February and “Winter Close” in November of each year, Maintenance is described as at least one additional visit during the Summer months which entails replenishing the misting concentrate on an ‘As Needed’ basis along with routine cleaning of the cabinet and inspection of component parts. Routine Maintenance time required per system is approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

On occasion, the Technician may be requested to make repairs to a misting system. Such requests may require diagnostic inspections and component parts replacement. Time needed will vary from job to job, usually not more than 60 minutes. Some customer owned misting systems will require diagnosis and/or minor repairs from time to time. Repairs or “Service” calls can vary in time required. Most are from 30 to 45 minutes. The on-staff Service Manager is available for tech support and assistance in diagnosis and repairs if needed.

The Technician will on occasion be dispatched to install an electronically controlled misting system on a customer’s property. The entire system consists of the machine cabinet along with misting nozzles and supports. The quantity of nozzles will vary from site to site. Average installation time requirement is approximate 3 to 4 hours per system.

All equipment, tools and supplies including a vehicle are supplied by the company. The company vehicle and equipment will be maintained by the technician, at the company’s expense. Tools will remain in possession of the technician during employment with Tuxedo Mosquito Control and the vehicle will be returned to the office each evening.

A technician will also handle spray treatments for mosquitoes utilizing a backpack style sprayer primarily in residential applications. A typical spray treatment will take an average between 15 to 20 minutes per application, depending on the size of the property. The backpack style sprayer will weigh around 60 lbs when full, so Technician must be able to handle this weight during the duration of applications.

Routine maintenance of company owned vehicles will be the responsibility of the technician (gasoline purchases, oil changes, tires, wiper blades & etc.) and be paid for by the company. Any repairs to company owned vehicles or equipment will be reported to the Service Manager who will authorize corrective action.

Employees are paid by the job, bi-weekly with direct deposit. A newly hired, non-experienced technician recruit may be compensated on a per-hour basis until completing a training period. Most technicians can transition from a ‘per hour’ rate to a ‘per job’ rate in a period of one to two weeks.

We are a seasonal company suspending all customer related services from Thanksgiving through the end of year holidays. Normally we schedule and resume services for a new season in late February to early March, depending on weather. Any extended "Off Time" or Vacation requests should be scheduled during the off season, the period after Thanksgiving and before Valentine's Day.

Normal work hours begin between 8:00 to 8:30 AM and extend until mid to late afternoons, Monday thru Friday. Rarely would a technician be requested to work on a Saturday or Sunday. Tuxedo Mosquito Control will observe most traditional holidays.

Technicians need an understanding and fast paced ability to learn smart phone applications such as Gmail, Field Routes Mobile, and other position related apps. These can be learned on the job, but a basic understanding of how to use a smartphone is required. Also required is the ability to carry 60 lbs for periods of time.

Tuxedo Mosquito Control's office is located in Atlanta, GA, but a Technician would be responsible for work in the greater Atlanta metro area.
