Essential Job Functions

· Minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment

· Diagnosing and repairing electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems

· Maintaining and operating the computerized HVAC building management system

· Rough and finish carpentry including framing, drywall and trim work

· Cabinet construction and repairs

· Minor masonry and concrete repairs

· Painting walls, ceilings, doors, frames and trim

· Installing and repairing doors, windows, locks and hardware

· Snow removal, including plowing and salting parking lots and walks (excluding walks

maintained by custodial contractors)

· Landscaping including plant material installation, mulching, pruning and care

· Lawn maintenance including mowing and trimming athletic fields

· Provide the care, maintenance and game striping of all athletic fields

· Maintaining stock of repair parts, or purchasing new when needed

· Write, edit and complete online work orders

· District deliveries, including district mail responsibilities

· Be aware of and follow MIOSHA Safety and Health Standards at all times while performing the duties

of this position

· Perform other such related MTT duties as may be assigned by administration

· Coordinate work with building administrators and the Director of Facilities and

Operations, so that repair projects do not interfere with district operations

Requirements

· High School Graduate. College or trade school classes preferred.

· Valid driver’s license.

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds

Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds including pushing and pulling items

such as tables, desks and cabinets.

· The employee must have good organizational skills and be able to independently sort, prioritize and

complete work orders with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work from ladders, personnel lifts and scaffolding up to 50’ high

· Ability or willingness to learn to operate large equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and scissor lifts

· Must have ability or willingness to learn computer skills for completing online work orders.

· Must have ability or willingness to learn to solder pipes and install valves and plumbing fixtures, install electrical switches, outlets, ballasts and breakers

· Ability or willingness to learn to use hand tools and power tools proficiently

· Be able to speak, read and write at a level of proficiency that permits satisfactory job performance

· Be able to read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical labels

· Be neat in appearance

· Must be willing to attend seminars and in-service training

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.24 - $24.16 per hour
