- Must hold a Colorado Alternative, Provisional, or Professional Teaching License with appropriate endorsements
- Bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college
- Completed a state approved Teacher Preparation Program or participation in an Alternative Teacher License program.
- Demonstrates subject matter competency by one of the following means:
- Hold an endorsement in the subject area teaching through The Colorado Department of Education
- Pass the appropriate subject area PLACE or PRAXIS exam in Colorado or in a CDE approved state
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of content and teaching methods in area(s) of teaching assignment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental needs of students.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
- Evidence of ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with school personnel, students and parents.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with students.
- Plan instruction consistent with the district-approved curriculum for assigned subject area(s)/grade level(s)
- Use formal and informal methods to assess the abilities and needs of students.
- Plan effective use of class time.
- Apply principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement.
- Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for the objectives and learners.
- Modify instruction to meet student needs.
- Communicate effectively with learners.

Alice Terry and Fort Logan Northgate are seeking candidates who are highly qualified in elementary and secondary music and have experience teaching elementary and secondary vocal and instrumental music. Candidates should be flexible and excited to work with a variety of age groups and be willing to develop programming and instruction for both a K-2 and a 3-8 music program aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards. This is a shared position between both buildings.
