ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Administrator 2 - Orphan Well (two positions) within the Division of Oil and Gas. The final headquarter location for one of the positions of Guernsey or Washington county will be determined with the successful applicant. The final headquarter location of the other position of Tuscarawas or Summit county will be determined with the successful applicant. What you will do…
- Supervise employees and provide technical guidance to program staff and contractor to resolve complex well plugging issues
- Develop and manage schedules for plugging orphan wells
- Develop, integrate, track, and report data related to orphan wells
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with policies and procedures for the Orphan Well Program.

- Or undergraduate major core program & 30 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.
- Or 54 mos. trg. or 54 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description; valid driver’s license.
- Or 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Administrator 1, 22911, in assigned area; valid driver’s license.

NOTE: If assigned to work as Law Enforcement Officer, must also hold Ohio Peace Officers Training Council certificate. For positions assigned to perform law enforcement duties, applicants must successfully pass background check by appointing authority that includes polygraph, psychological & medical examination. Applicant must demonstrate physical fitness as outlined in department directive. Final applicant accepted for position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
