The Network Operations Unit within Department of Revenue's (DOR) Information Systems Division is looking to fill a position for a Network Administrator (IT Network & Telecommunications - Journey) who is knowledgeable and driven to help us administer and maintain our IT network infrastructure.

What makes this role unique? In this role you will serve as a network administrator on the Network Operations team. This is a critical role that calls for a resourceful and competent individual that can resolve urgent network issues, propose network improvements, seek training to stay up to date on current trends and developments. The role is expected to work with various technical staff, vendors, and stakeholders effectively.
What you will do:
Provide expert network engineering support for Revenue’s network infrastructure.- Monitor the local area network and wide area network for performance anomalies.
- Provide expert tier 2 and tier 3 support to Revenue offices located across the state for network related issues.
- Perform routine maintenance duties to ensure optimization and security of network infrastructure.
- Participate and contribute to network research and design as the network technology expert in work and research involving Network Infrastructure Manufacturers and Partners.
- Serve as a contributor on project planning and implementation, developing and maintaining timelines and resourcing needs, work plans, and the documentation associated with these activities.
Minimum of 6 years experience in information technology with a minimum of 4 years continuous, dedicated, professional network design and engineering work was your primary responsibility and comprised more than 51% of your work
AND
A bachelors degree or higher in computer science or related field to information management with an emphasis in Network Engineering from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a foreign equivalent.
Please note: Additional years of qualifying experience can substitute year for year for the required education.
Preference may be granted to applicants who possess:
- A professional level network certification, such as CCNP (routing and switching, security, or data center), CCDP, from Cisco systems that is in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in a programming language or writing computer scripts such as Python.
- 2 years of network management administration experience – such as SolarWinds, What’s Up Gold, Extrahop, etc.
- Update/complete your online profile, as it will be used as your resume.

- Attach at least one writing sample of a technical documentation you have drafted. For example, a network Visio diagram or a step-by-step process.
