Overview
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining the industrial control network and server hardware and their associated operating systems in accordance with industry best practices. The engineer will lead specific network and server infrastructure projects. This is not a remote position.
Requirements
Necessary
- Education: B.S. in computer/IT related field or 2-year technical degree and related experience
- 3+ years’ experience in IT administration managing medium to large infrastructure on a day-to-day basis
- Network design and configuration (layer 2 and layer 3 Cisco IOS)
- Microsoft server technologies – Server 2016 and later
- Active Directory design and configuration
- Able to quickly adapt to challenging dynamic environments
- Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills
- Experience with incident troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with ability to prioritize and quickly resolve issues
- ESX VMWare server
- SAN Technologies – (preferred Tegile, PURE)
- Firewall configuration/management – (preferred CISCO Firepower)
Preferred
- CISCO engineering certification (CCNA, CCNP)
- Industrial communications protocols (CIP, Modbus, OPC DA & UA, etc.)
- Industrial cyber security
- Milestone

- Other systems administration experience desirable
Essential Functions
Partner with enterprise/business IT functional teams to create and maintain a stable scalable, manageable, and predictable industrial control system infrastructure (Network, Servers, Security, etc.)
- Design, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot the following infrastructure including hardware and software throughout the industrial control network: Layer 2 & 3 network switches
Firewalls/IDMZServers, virtual machines, their operating systems, and softwareStorage Area NetworksVideo surveillance systems including cameras, servers, and user interfacesPlant access control system (badge readers, doors,
- Administration tasks includeAsset management
Security administrationOS/Software patching/updatesDisaster recoveryNetwork/Server/System monitoring
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions which meet the needs of the organization in a collaborative and effective manner
- Fulfill adequate response to alerts and faults generated by the operations monitoring systems.
- Document the root cause of any unplanned outage and take appropriate steps to resolve the problem
- Document procedures and processes and consistently follow existing guidelines and standard operating procedures.
