The Enterprise Network Services organization is seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer with a solid understanding of networking, firewalls, WAN/LAN technologies and communication protocols. The individual must bring to bear their own knowledge and expertise, as well as that of their team members, to design, implement, operate, maintain, and fix networks. This includes routers, switches and firewalls with application specific policies and access control lists (ACLs).

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Design and implement corporate enterprise or direct mission network architectures
• Maintains smooth operation of corporate enterprise or direct mission network communication systems
• Evaluate and report on new communications technologies, as well as recommend viable solutions to improve the capabilities of the network
• Develop network installation, testing and troubleshooting procedures
• Work with customers to elicit, analyze, define, and document requirements
• Perform regular network performance and tuning
• Plan and coordinate installation and configuration of network communication systems and components

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Assurance or a related field; or equivalent (AS + 4 years or no degree + 8 years)
• Experience with network communication protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, and other related protocols
• Experience with LAN/WAN equipment, such as routers, switches, and protocol analyzers
• Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 implementation
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

• Understanding of various IT systems such as hardware, operating systems, networking, virtualization, and other technologies
• Experience designing, documenting, implementing, troubleshooting, and managing enterprise network infrastructures
• Ability to interpret new business requirements and propose suitable architecture changes
• Experience working with Ansible and various networking technologies in an unclassified and a classified environment
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in diverse team environments to resolve network-centric issues
• Knowledgeable of network virtualization and SDN
• Familiar with network equipment such as Juniper, Palo Alto, Arista, Tellabs and Extreme
• Familiarity with development (Python, Git)
• An active DOE Q security clearance
