This position serves to assist the newspaper delivery operation mainly through route delivery, new carrier training and delivery confirmation all to maintain subscriber satisfaction. Attendance and punctuality cannot be expressed enough. The intent of this position is to mitigate any issues that may befall the operation, if you are absent, the operation will be negatively impacted. You should be flexible as operational needs can change quickly.

This is not gig work. We are looking for a long term commitment, not a one or two month stint. Your typical day will start between 11 pm and midnight where you will arrive at the warehouse, bag your route(s), load your personal vehicle and complete all delivery by the deadline. If there is a new carrier and you are slated with training, you will be that person's point of contact during their training period and will answer their route related questions to ensure they are proficient with the route.

This position has an interim fast track period where you will 'audition' to ensure you are capable of performing the duties required. During this 'audition' period, you will start off as a Newspaper Carrier and over three weeks be given more and more duties from the lists below to ensure you are capable of working within a team and individually. This is a means to ensure you are capable of performing the role. Once you have proven yourself, you will receive the full Lead Carrier compensation. If the conclusion is made (by you or us) the Lead Carrier position is not for you, there may be an oportunity to stay on as a Newspaper Carrier.

Main duties:

• Capable of delivering at minimum 2 full routes daily
• Deliver open/absent routes
• ︎Follow delivery instructions
• Minimize delivery complaints
• Train new carriers
• May have to return to warehouse to pick up a route
• Correct sequencing issues on open routes
• Communicate with other leads daily to ensure all deliveries will be completed by deadline/early as possible
• Check/confirm deliveries with pictures

Requirements:

• Valid drivers license
• Dependable registered and insured vehicle
• Working cell phone and number
• Able to work overnight
• Deadline oriented
• Willing to work in all weather conditions
• Spare tire

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $500.00 - $1,500.00 per week

Day range:

• Every weekend
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
