Urodynamic – Nurse Navigator
Job Title: Urodynamic - Nurse Navigator
Department: Clinical
Overtime Status: Non-Exempt
Position Reports to: Clinical Manager
Location of Position: Wichita, KS
General Summary:
The role of our nurse navigator is to guide patients through a care pathway upon their diagnosis of incontinence. This is a service we are proud to offer as it goes above routine standard of care and provides our patients with specialized individual care. Our nurse navigator works directly our patients urologist to help evaluate symptoms, help patients to understand their diagnosis and treatment options, provide follow up care, and be available to answer, often uncomfortable, questions that may come up. Our nurse navigator listens to patients concerns and offers reassurance that if one treatment proves ineffective, there are other options available for managing symptoms and getting back to a normal active lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient nursing care for specified patients through their treatment
- Performs nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients, including patients on a clinical research study.
- Oversees the planning, scheduling, and implementation of day-to-day clinical activities and procedures for navigated patients
- Central point of contact for all navigated patients; including interaction with medical, nursing, ancillary services
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others; acts as an information resource to students, health care professionals, patients, and the public.
- Collect and report data from patient on barriers, health care, medications, prior treatments, etc.
- Track order completion and follow up. Monitor patient compliance with patient treatment plan.
- Assist patients with referrals to outside resources and care coordination as needed.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff to ensure excellent patient care and treatment path for each patient
- Designs or participates in the creation of health education materials.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Certification/Licensure State of Kansas Licensed Registered Nurse
- CPR Certified

- Requires standing and/or walking for more than four to six (4 – 6) hours per day
- Ability to pull and/or lift patients up to 250 pounds alone or in excess of 300 pounds with assistance

- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and medical equipment
