Accelerated Innovators is seeking Occupational Therapists for our client, a school district in Eagle Butte, SC:

OBJECTIVES

To provide individual occupational therapy to special education students as required through their Individual Education Plan (IEP) and mandated under the Individual Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004.

DUTIES

 The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, materials and other items and services necessary to effectively evaluate and provide occupational therapy services.

 Therapist shall provide onsite services.

 Shall work collaboratively with the Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor, school staff, students, and parents.

 Provide ongoing therapy to special education students currently in treatment as identified by their Individual Education Plan (IEP)

 Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy Evaluations as designated by Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor

 Maintain Individual Education Plans according to the Local and State regulations

 Consultation with Teacher Assistance Team/problem solving team as requested by Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor

 Provide prompt completion and delivery of evaluation reports

 If requested to will attend all Initial Eligibility meetings to review evaluation results with parents and staff

 All evaluations will be completed within 25 school days as required by South Dakota State law

 All evaluation reports will be completed with 30 calendar days as required by South Dakota State Law

 Provide onsite training to school staff and/or parents on topics related to area of expertise upon request from Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor

 Willing to attend and participate in trainings and workshops requested by Special Education Coordinator/School Supervisor, pending schedule and availability

 Recommend therapeutic equipment to be used with individual students based on individual student therapy needs

EDUCATION / LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

 Education: Shall have completed an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.

 Certification: Therapist must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy.

 Licensure: Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as an Occupational Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
