Operational/Business Continuity Risk Officer
Job Description
SUMMARY
In this role, as part of the Operational Risk Team, you will support the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and testing plan to help support response, develop business resiliency and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. This position will work closely with key stakeholders to help identify and support business activities necessary to manage a crisis event.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Facilitate Business Continuity plan updates
- Perform Business Continuity risk assessments
- Work with stakeholders in performing Business Impact analyses
- Coordinate and perform Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing and scenarios
- Perform testing of key operational risks
- Facilitate Business Continuity training and/or workshops
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES
- Maintains current knowledge of changes in banking, systems, and industry risks.
- Completes all required compliance training on a yearly basis.
- Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of banking experience is required.
- Business continuity or control testing experience preferred.
- Internal audit experience a plus.
- Risk, Business Continuity or Audit certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within 12-18 months of hiring.
- Understanding of Business Continuity Management Systems, such as ISO 22301, a plus.
TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all management levels.
- Ability to perform advanced tasks in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work primarily in person/onsite, some travel.
