JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER


DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

STATUS: FULL TIME

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: DISTRICT OPERATIONS MANAGER

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Supervisory experience, including establishing and keeping production schedule
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required
  • Familiarity with standard shipping/receiving and warehousing procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work with a minimum of supervision, adaptable and able to handle confidential matters
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with the Warehouse Supervisors to ensure that quality control is maintained for all goods sorted and the maximum amount of quality goods are available.
  • Ensure daily production goals are met by flexing staff where needed and monitoring and auditing production throughout the day.
  • Ensure the Transportation and Dispatch functions are operating efficiently, and according to established standards, each day.
  • Monitor Transportation and Dispatch functions throughout the day and hold employees accountable.
  • Supervise and control the workload of assigned personnel.
  • Maintain daily attendance and schedule staff vacation.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the warehouse functions to ensure established procedures for shipping, transportation/dispatch, product rotation, sanitation, safety, and timeliness are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and complete all computer-based and manual reports and related paperwork, including time records, daily logs, and damage reports, etc.
  • Forecast labor needs and build processes and systems to improve labor efficiency for all department activities.
  • Ensure high customer and donor experience across all fulfillment activities, utilizing feedback loop from Retail, Marketing and other depts.
  • Ensure the merchandise pricing conforms to establishing pricing policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the constant processing of materials and as a deterrent to pilfering.
  • Train personnel so that all employees will be able to do any job as necessitated by personnel requirements.
  • Provide security for departments and the materials stored in them.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and reporting all safety. Ensure that all necessary corrective measures and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Secure the Sorting Departments at the end of the day by ensuring that everyone has left the areas that all points of access to the Sorting Departments are closed and secured.
  • Assure that established personnel policies and directives are followed by all assigned personnel (beneficiaries and employees) and the disciplinary measures are taken when necessary.
  • Overtime: Any and all overtime must have the written approval of the supervisor. The supervisor’s initials must appear on the timecard besides the overtime hours.
