Job Overview:
Linde U.S. Gases is currently seeking an Operations Superintendent based in Lyndora/Butler PA. This is a key role that will be primarily responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a large onsite Air Separation Plant and report directly to the Associate Director of Operations. This is a challenging and rewarding assignment that requires sound technical abilities in industrial gas plant operations, HVAC, instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems with training provided in site-specific applications.
The Operations Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that production requirements are met, and the facility is operated in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. In addition, the superintendent will be directly responsible for managing and supporting two production technicians. The Superintendent will be expected to respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make technical decisions and recommendations in unison with the Associate Director of Operations to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.
This is a front-line operational role that will support the safe production and supply of customer pipelines and regional liquid production demands, and which requires a combination of both office and field work. Accessibility off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Startup, operate, and maintain the air separation plant and all associated tanks, controls, and truck fill systems.
- Maintain industrial chillers & HVAC units, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Coordinate scheduling of planned maintenance and perform preventative maintenance on plant components.
- Monitor process performance and make appropriate adjustments to remedy deviations and align to the specified norm.
- Read and interpret P&ID’s, Electrical Schematics, One Line Diagrams, Equipment Manuals, and Organizational Procedures.
- Perform lock-out-tag-out, HWP’s, and oversee contractors as necessary.
- Prepare and execute projects to improve facility availability and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Management experience
- Working knowledge of industrial gas plant operations and processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with a minimum 3-5 years of experience, and/or 5-10 years of relevant experience in plant operations.
