POSITION PROFILE

The iNOC Operations Technician is responsible for providing 24/7/365 first level support and troubleshooting of a wide variety of issues, as well as clearly documenting and communicating these issues to technical teams and customers.

This full-time, entry level IT position is on the iNOC (IMBi Network Operations Center) and is ideal for a candidate with a background in IT or a recent graduates of an IT program. This is a hourly, direct hire opportunity in which the incumbent will receive on-the-job training. To meet the needs of the operation, the full-time work schedule for this role will be 5 days per week scheduled throughout Monday - Sunday (off days may be week days).

Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm CST) with Tuesday and Wednesday off, voluntary over-time work opportunity available as needed.

PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors of customer environments using multiple enterprise monitoring tools, including Solarwinds and CCSS for iSeries.
  • Completes scheduled daily tasks, thoroughly and completely.
  • Communicates with customers and engineers; Interacts with customers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests.
  • Researches required information using available resources.
  • Follows standard processes and procedures.
  • Identifies and escalates priority issues per Client specifications.
  • Redirects problems to appropriate resource and thoroughly documents all aspects of daily activities.
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Initial background in IT required: either formal education or experience, which affords the candidate with some familiarity with networking, ticketing systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of relevant software computer applications and equipment
  • Exemplary attendance and punctuality
  • Schedule flexibility, minimum 12 hours of weekend schedule availability on a Saturday or Sunday
  • Superior communication skills including ability to speak and write clearly and accurately
  • Demonstrated proficiency in typing and grammar
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices including proper phone etiquette and effective listening skills
  • Ability to work in an team environment and willingness to co-operate with others
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
