Packaging Machine Operator II
We are looking for a technical-minded packaging machine operator to join our company. In this role, your duties will include the operating the packaging machine, and ensuring that finalized products are ready for distribution.
As a successful packaging machine operator, you should pay meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to troubleshoot minor problems. Ultimately, a top-notch packaging machine operator should be a solution-driven individual who can carry packed boxes of differing weights if necessary.
Packaging Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company’s good manufacturing practices.
- Operating the machinery used for packaging products in the manufacturing area daily.
- Knows and adheres to safety procedures and reports any safety concerns to plant management in a timely manner.
- Starting up and stopping the machine as necessary, including refilling packaging material.
- Performing routine checks to ensure that the machine is in an operable state.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and the work area.
- Ensuring the correct packaging is used for specific product ranges and that packaging is done in line with the company standards.
- Inspecting final products.
- Reporting faulty packaging or problems on the machines to the relevant managers.
- Moving of completed boxes of products to the correct inventory area.
- Completing all relevant documentation on the packing and maintenance of the packaging machines.
- Troubleshoot and address any issues that arise during production, escalating issues as needed.
- Occasionally use chemicals to clean equipment
- Properly issue all materials to production runs using automated warehouse management system
Packaging Machine Operator Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Experience with food manufacturing a plus
- Competency in basic mathematic functions
- A clear understanding of basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance.
- Skillful in stock management and storage processes.
- A clear understanding of health and safety standards and protocols.
- Basic computer skills for word processing and email
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to carry packed boxes of 50 pounds and more.
- Attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00 per hour
