SUMMARY

Assist experienced painters by preparing parts and assemblies for painting and furnishing them with materials, tools, and supplies. Perform light painting duties and some assembly work.

HOURS

11:00 am - 7:30 pm M-F

*10% shift differential pay*

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Use forklift to load and move materials to work areas
• Clean, prepare, and mask items to be painted by sanding, filling, and prepping
• Furnishes other painters with materials, tools, and supplies
• Perform light painting duties as needed
• Occasionally perform assembly work on lines and components
• Remove materials, parts, or workpieces from painting or coating machines, using hand tools
• Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Prefer industrial painting and/or manufacturing background

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES

• Must be able to supply own hand tools
• Must be able to pass a Qualitative Fit Test for use of Respirator
• Able read and interpret work instructions or similar information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This position is very active and requires bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, and climbing all day.
• The employee must lift and/or move 10-20 pounds constantly, frequently lift and/or move 20-50 pounds and occasionally exert (pushing/pulling) 50-100 pounds of force.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
