Part-time Academic Coach

The part-time Academic Coach will work within Pace University’s Center for Teaching and Research in Autism to support neuro-diverse students with autism spectrum disorders and related learning differences in their academic studies at Pace University.

Specific duties are:

Attends weekly staff meetings.

Attend summer staff training sessions.

Meet with students one on one daily.

Review student files with social worker.

Follow professional protocol as outlined in OASIS manual.

Keep updated binder on each student as directed by OASIS standard.

Communicate with professors as necessary.

Communicate with parents as necessary.

Assure all student accommodations are in place.

Work with Educational Coordinator on student registration.

Communicate with Program Director on any issues related to academic, social, emotional issues with students.

Assure all e-mail correspondence is professional.

Will be expected to perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

The part-time OASIS coaching position requires that all candidates have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.

Prior experience working in tutoring and/or with students with learning challenges.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Pleasantville, NY 10570: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Preferred)
