Learn to Write Now (LTWN) is an online ELA enrichment center for grades K-12, offering classes in academic writing, creative writing, reading, test prep, and more. We believe in writing-based learning, helping students to analyze ideas, communicate meaningfully, and think creatively. Part-time position (20 - 35 hours)
Critical Question: Are you available during these times for a minimum of 20 hours?
- Fall & Winter Hours:
Mon. to Thu., from 4 PM–8 PM and Sat. from 8 AM - 2 PM (CST)
- Summer Hours: (June/July)
Mon. to Thu., from 8 AM-12 PM and 4 PM-8 PM (CST)
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to…
Teaching Workshops:
- Instructing lessons based on the provided LTWN curriculum and instructions
- Adapting to a variety of classes at LTWN, like LTWN 360 (our staple workshop), LTWN Lite, Readers’ Workshop, Writers’ Workshop, and more
- Providing feedback and grades on student written work and in-class engagement
- Recording student performance and attendance in LTWN’s internal database
- Communicating with students via Google Classroom to answer lesson/homework queries
- Collaborating with the LTWN Grading Team to identify students who need extra help
- Offering resources to students who may require more motivation or knowledge
- Bringing enthusiasm to each lesson and encouraging students to be their very best selves
- Addressing parent questions and meeting with them during seasonal parent conferences
Ideal candidates are:
- Writers with a passion to teach the craft
- English teachers who are looking for a part-time job and are excellent in English
- College students with a course of study focused on Education or English/Reading/Writing
Minimum Requirements:
1. Eligible to work in the US. Will do background check.
2. Excellent in English communications
3. Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities (Ideally English)
4. At least 1 years of Elementary school and above experience teaching English to advanced learners. (Not SPED or International students)
5. Passionate and enthusiastic teacher
6. Skilled in Online teaching methodologies
7. Are looking for a long term engagement.
8. Can commit to a minimum of 20 hours as per the schedule mentioned
Salary/Wage: This is a part-time, hourly position with pay rate $20 - $25 per hour depending on qualification, teaching experience, nature of work assigned etc.
