Clarion Psychiatric Center offers inpatient treatment for adults with moderate to severe psychiatric problems, inpatient crisis stabilization for children and adolescents, and a Partial Hospitalization Program for school-aged children. Our recently expanded 112-bed inpatient program has 4 units. Qualifications
Job Description: The Director of Medical Records leads and directs the medical records staff and HIM functions for the hospital. Determines procedures that incorporate best practices and ensures timely and accurate coding. Ensures that the medical records system and practices comply with Joint Commission, UHS, and other applicable standards.
Education Requirements, Experience, Certification(s):
- Master’s degree in medical records, health information management, or related field
- 5+ Years’ of experience working with medical records in a healthcare setting, preferably behavioral health
- 2+ Years’ of experience managing medical records staff
- Working knowledge of various electronic health record systems
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
