The Data Processing Specialist: Payroll:

The Data Processing Specialist: Payroll will primary be responsible for the preparation and auditing of employee time worked for payroll. Data is pulled from a variety of sources, including multiple telephone systems and other databases, and incorporated into templates created by the payroll team. This position may also be required to assist the workforce management (WFM) team with tickets and schedule adjustments.


Ad hoc reporting is conducted as-needed, as is research into data in the event an anomaly is detected.

This is a Part time position. Scheduled start times and days of the week may be negotiated, with a strong preference for Monday - Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus will be to complete various forms of submitted Payroll adjustments through in house programs in a timely manner.

  • Audit and check accuracy of said adjustments through analyzing various forms of data

  • Audit agent’s timeclock to ensure accuracy and get ahead of potential errors

  • May be required to assist in various forms of Reporting

  • This will include pulling data from various sources, following procedures outlined for the reports, and sending to the appropriate departments/ individuals in a timely manner

  • Assist with other Payroll related projects or functions as needed.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to sit or stands for long periods of time

  • Must have dexterity in arms and hands to use computer and other office supplies

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus to view computer screens

  • Employees must be able to hear varying ranges of voices to detect specific words or phrases

  • The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms to handle reference materials

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop

  • The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

  • Hours of Work Requirements:

  • Expected hours of operation follow a standard forty (40) hours per week; however, the workload is variable and may exceed forty (40) hours in each week without warning

  • Days of week work Requirements: Must be able to work nights or weekends based on business need


Complexity:

  • Follows instructions from supervisor with limited supervision.

  • Analyzes production reports to identify areas of opportunity and creates action plans to correct opportunities.

  • Has moderate agent/supervisor interaction to obtain, clarify, or give facts or information to the agent/supervisor in a structured setting.


Qualifications & Required Skills
:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • 1-2 years equivalent experience, preferred

  • Proficient with MS Office software: Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a particular focus / aptitude toward Excel.

  • Special Skills:

  • Trend Analysis – Able to identify patterns in data.

  • High Attention to Detail – Able to observe and call out anomalies.

  • Strong Mathematical Aptitude – particularly with arithmetic and algebra.

  • Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification.

  • Written Communication – Writes professional, clear, and concise correspondence with all levels of management using correct terminology.

  • Excellent Speech to Text – Able to listen and translate to written text.

  • Teamwork – Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

  • Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
