ENGIE’s partnership team has under management several partnerships for our ~6GW operating fleet of Wind & Solar in both United States and Canada and various ISO’s, amongst others ERCOT, SPP, PJM, MISO. The number of partnership aims at expanding alongside our growth in development where we expect to placed in service more than 1 GW/y over the next decade with the expansion in new ISO’s and new technologies, such as battery storages.
The Director, Partnership Management is responsible for managing the relationship with our cash equity and tax equity partners and notably delivering highest quality key deliverables, ensuring compliance with the agreements in place and design efficient processes in order to scale the activity. The Director will as well develop best practices in term of partnership management as well as a collaborative work with all internal center of expertise to ensure profitability maximization for the joint venture The Director is also responsible of its P&L composed of Engie Service agreements fee and its cost center in order to ensure profitability
This position is located in Houston, TX and reports to the Vice President Commercial Operations.
What you’ll do:
Partnership Management
- Act as Joint Venture manager and in the best interests of all parties involved in compliance with the agreements.
- Manage relationships with joint venture partners (cash equity and tax equity), developing an in-depth understanding of the contractual obligations and partner’s need.
- Provide partnership key deliverables, notably yearly budget, board material, board minutes of meetings, monthly operating reports on time and with the required quality
- Accountable for the compliance of each partnership and organize the governance: board meeting, ad hoc meetings etc.
- Represent Engie at the board of each partnership
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements and be the referent for our organization on partnership related topic.
- Update partnership business plan activity and be responsible for the P&L of the team through defining the appropriate service fees and services agreement as well as managing the team costs.
- Develop KPIs in order to monitor success both externally from partners and internally.
- Train our organization in partnership understanding including but not limited to partners strategy, partnership agreements digest etc.
- Be able to explain partnership activities, partnership dynamic and make recommendation up to the global renewables CEO.
- Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.

- Lead the partnership team in providing direction and supporting them in their growth.

Organization
- Shape the organization by deploying new processes, systems and tools to further industrialize the partnership team towards efficiency and value creation according to current growth.
- Leverage internal expertise, amongst others : asset management, operations, trading/energy management, accounting, treasury, FP&A, legal, Power marketing, in order to deliver high quality deliverables and ensure appropriate experts are capable to answer in an efficient manner to partners need.
- Act as a bridge builder to leverage the best of our vertically integrated organization to achieve superior value creation.
- Ensure activity and information transparency to have all our departments at the right level of knowledge/understanding to be efficient in their role and in the support of the partnership team.
What you bring:
- Minimum 10 years relevant work experiences
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics preferred.
- Broad experience in all aspects of the power industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of power plant operations and economics
- Experienced team leader with a focus on partnership management, renewables preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Detail-oriented individual who will work proactively to pursue value creation.
- Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with internal and external parties.
- Understanding of renewables financials model : Tax equity, cash equity, debt.
- Good understanding of partnership agreements (LLCA etc.)
- Good understanding of assets contractual arrangements (LTSA, PPAs, JVMA, OMA, AMA, etc.)
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Strong desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America.

- Salary Range: $120,700 - $307,190, annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
