Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is looking for a Patent Prosecution Specialist for our IP - Patents & Innovations group. This position offers a range of responsibilities related to patent prosecution. Candidates must have a working knowledge of the patent prosecution process, have the ability to generate formal USPTO documents, prepare shell responses, and have experience e-filing applications and generating reporting letters. Candidates should also be familiar with generating reports from CPI and utilizing the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Application Information Retrieval system. Strong organizational skills are required to manage all aspects of the practice, including keeping the attorneys and patent agents on track through overseeing the docket and taking a proactive approach. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are a must, along with strong computer skills and superior attention to detail. A minimum of three years' experience in a Patent Assistant role is required. Occasional overtime work may be necessary. Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows: $36.78 - $49.76 per hour.
The compensation for this position may include overtime and a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
