SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the nursing staff by providing constant observation of patients. Take the necessary steps to prevent the patient from removing IV lines or engaging in behaviors that may result in a fall or further injury to themselves or others. Notifies nursing staff and/or security as needed when additional assistance is required. Reports changes in the patient's behavior to the RN. Judgment is required in anticipating the needs of the patient in a variety of situations and selecting the appropriate response.

All candidates will receive Avade training course once onboarded. This is a $1,500.00 course that is provided at no cost to employees. Staff will learn de-escalation techniques, self-defense, restraint training, trauma-informed care, CPR, and AED.

Working Conditions: The work demands long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and sitting in the process of patient watches. You must be alert and observant at all times. The work is performed in a hospital setting where there is common exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous material and bloodborne pathogens. Some degree of risk is present in working with emotionally disturbed individuals.

Requirements:

Be up to date on all immunizations. If you have not received your immunizations or do not know if you have - your primary care can do a simple blood test, to test for immunity.

Immunizations include :

MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDap, TB, Flu Sept 2021 & Covid 19

RSIG partners with Cambridge hospitals to provide Patient Observers and Supplemental Security Staff.

Currently Available shifts : Monday thru Sunday 11p-7a.

Pay rate : $25/hr

Parking is free.
