Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:Individual will provide assistance with monitoring individual patient activity. Patient Safety Attendants assist the patients, their families and the unit staff in providing timely, customer oriented services.DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provides individualized visual monitoring of the patient.
- Assists nursing staff in providing a safe environment.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and protects patient dignity.
- Provides customer oriented services to help meet the patient’s needs.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- None
Certification and Licensure:
- None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant walking, standing, bending, stooping, and pushing and pulling heavy objects.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains, exposure to airborne pathogens via blood and body fluids and exposure to contagious diseases. May be exposed to hazardous materials.
- This is an OSHA Category 1 position. Body substance isolation must be practiced.
