Job description

Local convenience store chain is looking for a full-time payroll clerk. The positions duties include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and processing payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
• Manage payroll records by auditing changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles and department/division/location transfers.
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
• Supports store managers and employees with new hires, terminations, and other payroll changes.
• Training and provide payroll support to stores/other management/employees for payroll transactions.
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees and managers.
• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to supervisors.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Candidate should be reliable, have the ability to keep information confidential, proficient with computers, have good time management skills, ability to maintain deadlines, attention to detail, and work well in a team environment.

Company offers a hybrid Telework program, employees work 1 day a week in the office and work from home the other 4 days. Initial training may require more office days until training is complete.
