What you'll do:
- Process daily off-cycle checks for final pay, including calculation of earnings, deductions, and taxes, in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and run recurring reports in Paycor to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Collaborate with both field and corporate HR, operations, and finance/accounting to collect and validate payroll data, such as new hires, terminations, and changes in employee status.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholdings, wage deductions, and record-keeping requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, tax forms, and payroll reports.
- Resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees, HR, and leadership in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and proactively recommend adjustments to payroll policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data and records.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processing and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly in California.
- Experience using payroll software, such as Paycor or similar systems, for processing payroll and generating reports.
- You are a collaborative colleague, entrepreneurial builder, and practical problem-solver!
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
- Proficient in using collaboration and reporting tools like Slack, Excel, and the Google Workspace.
