ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

PAYROLL SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT: Auditor’s Office

HIRING RANGE: $19.70-$21.89/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday 8 - 5 p.m.; Tuesday - Friday 8 - 4 p.m.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Administration Building - Goshen

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None

JOB SUMMARY:

Compiles, audits and tabulates employee time sheets to ensure the production and distribution of bi-weekly payroll and prepares appropriate reports to comply with paying statutory and non-statutory deductions. The focus is on records maintenance, data entry, or other details of public record.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· High school graduate or equivalent with previous training in record keeping and data entry

specialized training preferred

· Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions and follow written and verbal instructions

· Must have a minimum 2 years related experience

· Knowledge and ability to operate general office equipment

· Good typing skills (50+ wpm preferred)

· Valid driver’s license

· Pre-employment background check
