Position Summary

The Neurosurgery Department at the School of Medicine of the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is seeking a board-certified Neurosurgeon with a completed fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). Incumbent will serve as the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery, and responsibilities include providing clinical services, sharing in Pediatric Neurosurgery on-call coverage and undertaking the supervision of Neurosurgery residents. Other activities include participation in medical student education, resident selection and evaluation, as well as involvement in clinically relevant research and scholarship. This opportunity calls for a neurosurgeon interested in specifically building upon the long-established service at Children’s Hospital and building a regional service through a relationship with other smaller pediatric hospitals.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans is a 229-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a complete range of healthcare services for children from birth to 21 years. With over 40 pediatric specialties and more than 400 physicians, Children’s Hospital is the only full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South.
