Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking a full-time Fundraising and Donor Relations Specialist to be responsible for identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation, Inc.

This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) and eligible for benefits.

Job Responsibilities

• Secure contributions from an assigned portfolio of prospects
• Donor stewardship and cultivation
• Lead staff for annual community phone-a-thon event
• Prospect and develop relationships with both new and existing donors
• Develop and cultivate planned giving donors and strategies
• Assist with grant writing and development storytelling in coordination with the marketing & communications team
• Work closely with programming teams, as well as the marketing & communications team, to develop materials directed at individual donors and prospects, such as highly personalized proposals that are in line with donor interests and programmatic priorities
• Develop, generate, and review monthly performance reports for the development team
• Serve as liaison to a segment of Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation board members
• Assist in other financial development projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant fundraising, sales, and/or nonprofit experience; nonprofit fundraising experience preferred
• Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills; visual communications a strong plus
• Event planning skills and experience
• Fundraising or nonprofit experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Comfort with using relationship management databases
• Ability to perform work that is routine and strong attention to details
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Excellent project management, customer service,organization, and time management skills
• Knowledge of the Jewish culture would be a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
