Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
-
Perform examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome in accordance with standards set by profession’s national association, scope of practice and hospital policies and guidelines

Provide age-appropriate and family-centered care in accordance with current evidence and practice standards, provider’s prescription and protocols and regulatory standards
-
Complete documentation per departmental and hospital policy
-
Supervise therapy aides, students, and volunteers in order to maintain patient safety and regulatory standards

Participate in formal or informal education of new employees, students, volunteers, and members of same and other disciplines
-
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to enhance outcomes for patient care through individual patient care coordination as well as education and research activities

Participate in professional development activities

Express interest and ideas for participating in research projects, performance improvement processes, and outcome studies

Participate in community activities, and programs that benefit patients or program that encourage wellness for our staff and the community
Required Skills/Abilities
-
Current Physical Therapist licensure to practice in the state of Texas

Preferred certification or considerable experience in job-specific area
-
Certified in BLS
-
Eligible for membership in national association for applicable profession (e.g., APTA, AOTA)

Preferred 1-2 years of experience

Effective verbal and written communication with providers, patients of all ages and their families, hospital staff members, and other professionals
