Shifts Available and Hours: Days
Monday-Friday
7am to 4pm
While primarily a Monday thru Friday day shift role, flexibility for off-shift and weekends should be
understood as necessary for assignment completion on occasion
Job Summary:
This position owns the processes that ensure products are delivered on time by assessing and coordinating customer demands with manufacturing scheduling and logistics processes. The Planning Manager ensures safe and compliant on-time and on-quality delivery of products. This position provides on-site, frontline leadership and supervision for Production Planning, Logistics, Receiving, and Inventory functions.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree-preferred
- Manufacturing experience: exposure to Aluminum Extrusion Industry-required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a planning role -required.
- Prior leadership experience required.
- Fluency in English. Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong planning and analysis skills
- Proficiency in Data Analytics, in producation Planning and/or experience and certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is advantageous in this role
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, SAP (or other ERP products)
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and change management skills
- Ability to clearly identify leadership gaps and mentor
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads the S&OP management reviews, preparation of all data and metrics for review; including plant manpower plans, working capital projections; identifies gaps and scenarios that must be presented, builds final decision making on open items, and prepares escalations for executive review where appropriate.
- Use monthly S&OP tool to track all working capital
- Oversee process to determine how much capacity will be reserved for short lead time orders.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies and promote cost awareness in all areas of responsibility including frequent communication with extrusion sites on production, product quality, inventory and shipping related matters.
- Develops and implements standard processes for capacity planning, inventory control, and metal planning.
- Provide direct supervision over Material, Shipping, Controls, and Producation Planner(s) in addition to hands on planning responsibilities with emphasis on customer satisfaction and process optimization to drive efficiency
- Develop and implement best practice processes for all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and external vendor shipments (Traffic Control) throughout a multi-site facility.
- Ensure WIP and finished goods are delivered in the right quantities, on time.
- Develop and implement inventory strategy in accordance with business goals including raw materials planning and purchasing oversight.
