Jacobs is seeking a Planner Scheduler to join our team in Baltimore, MD. As the Planner Scheduler, you'll
plan and schedule the repair, and maintenance of water/wastewater distribution and collection systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a scheduling, planning, and reporting tool
  • Use of Geographic Information System (GIS), Vision View, and Collector
  • Schedules the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and collection system
  • Execute and plan daily goals while meeting quality, time, and project deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures for water distribution lines
  • Diagnosis and troubleshoot problems, then directs necessary corrective actions to T&D Manager
  • Prepares work schedules subject to approval by T&D Manager
  • Prepares reports and maintains records
  • Submit tickets for 811 based on work order requirements
  • Assists T&D Manager in conducting ongoing safety program
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with those contacted during work
  • Inspects equipment, oversees maintenance, and initiates needed repairs
  • Ability to work with the client’s staff and provide communication, instruction, and guidance as needed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Comfortable speaking with multiple levels of management
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater distribution construction and planning procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver’s license – State of New Mexico
  • Possess a Class A CDL – State of New Mexico
  • New Mexico Level II certification in Water or Wastewater
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations including spreadsheets and work processing documents and entering information into data management systems
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in water distribution and collection systems field operations, maintenance, and repair

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Three to five years’ experience in water distribution and collection systems field operations, maintenance, and repair
  • New Mexico Level IV certification in Water or Wastewater
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of water/wastewater operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of water analyses
  • Proficient skills and knowledge of computer operations including development of spreadsheets and word processing documents and entering information into data management systems

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • The work area can involve a working environment indoors as well as outdoors, which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens, and various chemicals.
  • The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination to work on equipment, have vision sufficient to read blueprints; have hearing in the normal range with or without correction.
  • In an 8-hour shift must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, climb and work off of a ladder or scaffold; use arms and back to tighten and loosen nuts and bolts; carry a 50-pound toolbox up a flight of stairs; work in confined spaces and wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
